Error codes after reformat and reinstall of Windows 7

I recently had to reformat my laptop's hard drive and reinstall Window 7-64-bit, AutoCAD 2011-64-bit, and Land F/X. For some reason, I was having trouble with Land F/X's install this time around. I was getting the following error code:

"Error connecting to Land FX database: Automation Error. [MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver]Can't connect to MySQL Server on 'craig_hp_pc' (10061)"

I followed the instructions for the 64-bit workstation setup and had the same error. I then downloaded and installed MySQL 5.1 64-bit Server. I now have the following error:

"Error connecting to Land FX database: Host '192.168.1.102' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server." The toolbars are showing and the paths all seem correct in AutoCAD. Any ideas?

I have never seen the message ""Error connecting to Land FX database: Host '192.168.1.102' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server." MySQL does not require the 64 bit version in order to connect. Instead of now just trying to troubleshoot the workstation connection to the database, we will need to now troubleshoot the 64 Bit MySQL installation.

Please call me when you get a chance, I will need to remote into your machine to verify settings of Server install.

Did you also install the Land F/X Server from the server installer?

The install guide (http://landfx.com/documentation/doku.ph ... l_land_f_x) states that for laptop installs, you will need to install the Land F/X Server as well as the Land F/X Workstation on the same machine.

If I take your previous post as step by step of what was done, the entire Server portion was skipped, then after the workstation was installed you installed MySQL server. But installing the MySQL server will not populate the database or grant permissions. You also would be missing all necessary Land F/X Files.

We will need a lot more information of what exactly was done, or give us a call for a remote session.

Resolution:

MySQL was installed, but there was no database, user or permissions.

1. Created LandFX Database
2. Created user ODBC
3. Granted permissions to ODBC to LandFX
4. Imported Database
5. Reactivated with Client Support ID.
