Success Story
Loyal Land F/X clients call or email us to let us know their success stories with using the program, so we decided to share one with you! This month, the success story comes from WDI, Walt Disney Imagineering, who have been using LFX since 2005. If you would like to be featured in another month's success story, please contact Katie at Katie@landfx.com. A special thanks to Stephanie Kennedy, landscape designer, for submitting this one.

What Success Story Do You Have Using LFX?
Here at WDI, we just completed a very complex area development project with a high speed roller coaster. Land F/X allowed us to articulate the area development elements by coordinating 4 sheets of schedules, 60 sheets of plans, and over 180 sheets of details and elevations. The fact that Land F/X could keep the callout bubbles updated throughout the package really made our jobs easier because we could then focus on the design instead of the accuracy of the references. In addition, we found the ability to tailor the refnotes to fit our unique project needs to be invaluable.

How has using Land F/X affected your traditional workflow process?
Land F/X has helped our workflow in a number of ways. For example, from a production standpoint, once the placeholders are set up properly, the landscape architect can design up to the last minute before a deadline and not have to worry about chasing callout. Secondly, the placeholders serve as a reminder of which details need further development and which are complete.

New Features
We have recently added a Bubble Callout to the Detail Builder toolbar. Feel free to play with it and give us your feedback during this test phase. Watch the instructional video on the Bubble Callout here, http://www.landfx.com/videos_details.php (it is titled New Detail Labeling Methods Webinar).

Land F/X is also beginning to roll out our new Design F/X system. Design F/X includes the great features seen in LFX's Details and Ref Notes, but now it can be applied to multidisciplinary firms such as architects and civils. Let our support team know if you would like to test Design F/X, and we will give you a few free licenses to try out. Contact them at support@landfx.com.

Shortcuts/Tips
February's highlighted shortcut came from an applicant who has used the program extensively and applied for a job with us. When asked what his favorite feature of Land F/X was, his response was: the UCS button.

The UCS button is small, not very well known, and powerful in its scope. It is an ideal way to set a custom rotation for your drawing.

A UCS (User Coordinate System) allows the user to orient the view of the site to fit their needs for the drawing, while still allowing for some form of coordinate system.

Read more about the capabilities of UCS in our Help Documentation, http://www.landfx.com/documentation/doku.php?id=drawingsetup#ucs_definition_optional, or watch an in-depth webinar on UCS and scaling here, http://www.landfx.com/videos_general.php.
