Add Plant Shadows Plant shadows add a 3-Dimensional feel to a drawing and help to bring it alive. Land F/X allows shadow creation for all plants with a click of the mouse. Select the Plant Shadows function and a dialog box will ask “Angle of shadow”. Enter an angle and press OK. The Land F/X convention for angles is the same as AutoCAD’s, with 0° to the right along the X Axis and going in a counterclockwise direction. Tree and shrub shadows are inserted, in this case a 45 degree angle was selected. F Remember: § You can run the Plant Shadows function as many times as you want, and with different angles to determine the best effect of the shadows you desire. § The shadows are created on three layers: “X-TREE-SHAD”, X-SHRB-SHAD”, and “X-PALM-SHAD”. Therefore you can go to the AutoCAD Layers Property Manager and turn off some of the shadows (shrubs for instance if it is a drawing with a very small scale), or alter the intensity of any of the shadow groups by changing the layer’s color to one of a darker or lighter screening. § The Plant Shadows dialog box also allows you to turn all of the shadows off, if desired, by selecting the Turn Off Shadows button on the dialog box.
