The Land F/X detail module size convention is based upon the CSI Uniform Drawing System and the GSA PBS Nation CAD Standards. These standards recommend a basic detail module (or drawing block) of 6”(150mm) wide by 5.7”(145mm) high. Land F/X uses this module size in a flexible system to determine the final detail size. The basic detail module is defined below.

The Land F/X overall sheet layout schematics are based upon the CSI Uniform Drawing System. The Detail Module listed above is equal to one drawing block within a sheet layout. In this manner, the sheet layout can include only details, or a mix of details and plan drawings. The Land F/X overall sheet layout schematic is as follows:

The sheets are divided into Data/Binder Area, Drawing Block Area, and Title Block Area. Each of the drawing blocks is the same size as a Detail Module, or 6” (150mm) X 5.7” (145mm).
The Data/Binder Area is 1.25” (32mm) and the Title Block Area is 3.5” (89mm) with an edge distance of 0.5” (13mm) at the top, bottom, and right.
The Land F/X detail system allows for a modular approach for determining the final size of a detail. As the Sheet Layout indicates, the basic detail module is 1A. A wider detail of the height of an “A” module would be 2A, 3A, etc. If a detail needs to be taller, the module would be 1B, and then 2B, 3B, etc. if it needs to be wider at the “B” module height. In this manner a detail can be as small as the basic detail module, or 1A, or as large as an entire sheet. This is best illustrated as below:

Users are welcome to change the basic Detail Module size to better fit their existing detail library. Changing the module size will not affect the library of details that come with Land F/X, so care must be taken (certainly if reducing the module size), if the user intends to use the existing Land F/X details in conjuction with their own.
Changing the module size is fairly simple two-step process. First, the user must change the setting in Preferences, and then must modify the detail border templates to reflect the new size.
To change the Detail Module size, the user must first make the changes in the Preferences screen. You must then modify the Detail Template files, one for each possible width of details, from module width 1 through 4. You can utilize the Open Files button in the Preferences screen to easily do this.
