Associating Planting Details with the Plant Manager

Watch the video.

Details can be associated with the project plants when you add them to the project, or at any later time with the Project Plant Manager. It is often more convenient to associate details to the project plants after most or all of the Planting Plan is complete, and you have a good idea of the detail requirements for the project.

The first detail you select for a plant in a plant group, such as Trees, should be the most common detail for the group, and will be the default detail for that group. As the default detail, this detail will automatically be associated with all of the plants in that group. This is because, more often than not, most of the details for a plant group will be the same detail. After adding the first detail, or the default detail, select Edit to add a different detail for each plant that has a different detail than the default detail.

Selecting the Default Detail button will bring up a dialog box for the plant group that was selected. In this case, the group Trees was selected, and the detail dialog box displays details for Tree Planting.

The upper left corner of this dialog box displays the sub-categories for the detail group Tree Planting. The detail numbers and titles for the highlighted category are listed on the bottom left, and a thumbnail of the details is indicted on the right. Select any detail and click on View, and an enlarged image of the detail will be visible.

When you highlight a detail and select OK from the detail dialog box, that detail will now be the default detail representing all trees in the project. If some of the trees require a different detail, highlight that tree and select Edit, and associate a different detail as required.

Select the appropriate default detail and specific details as required for the trees, shrubs, and ground covers. These details are now stored with the project and are ready for placement into a drawing with the Detail Manager.

F Remember:

§
At any time you can replace the default detail for a plant group with another detail by selecting Default Detail from the Project Plant Manager. This does not change the details for plants that where associated with specific details other than the default detail.
§
After you have assigned a default detail to a plant group, you may add more plants to the group By Name or By Project. These new plants will automatically be assigned the default detail.

Associating Irrigation Details with the Irrigation Manager

Details can be associated with the irrigation components when you add them to the project, or at any later time with the Project Irrigation Manager. Selecting the Detail button will display the Standard Details for the corresponding category of details.

Select the appropriate details as required for all models in the heads, valves, auxiliary equipment, and drip categories. These details are now stored with the project and are ready for placement into a drawing with the Detail Manager.

F Remember:

§
When you Import irrigation components from another project, the associated detail information will also be brought into the current project, in order to allow a quick process of importing data and information.
§
Checking the View All box will display all equipment types, allowing easy specifying of detail for each.

Associating Details with Reference Notes

Watch the video.

Reference Notes are a powerful tool for managing notations that reference to text descriptions. They also allow an easy ability to specify a detail, with a more textual representation of the condition, than utilizing a Detail Callout would allow.

Select the Detail button to open the Detail Manager. If no details have been added to the project, the Detail Manager will be blank. Select either a detail you have already added to the project, or select a Standard Detail or a Component Detail to add to the project and associate with this Reference Note.

After placing the detail, you can select to include the Detail column on the Reference Note Schedule, having it automatically appear next to the corresponding note.
