Leaders

 

Leaders are lines or arcs with attached arrows so that text or symbols can point to something. Land F/X provides a variety of leader and arrow options.

 

 

When you select the Leaders icon or Leaders pull-down menu, the Land F/X Leaders toolbar will appear on the drawing. It is assumed that when you are entering leaders, you are going to make multiple entries. Therefore the leader toolbar is a floating toolbar that you can easily move around the drawing or close when you wish.

To place a Leader

From the Leader toolbar select the type of leader you wish to draw. For each arrow type there is a line leader or an arc leader. With the line or arc leaders it requires three clicks to place a leader.

 

Line Leader placement: 1st point at the arrow location, 2nd point at the line break, 3rd point at the end of the leader.

With the line leader, the line drawn between points two and three will be ortho adjusted for the horizontal.

 

With the arc leader, the second point is the midpoint location of the arc.

The leader with Text options will automatically use the Detail Text font, only if the text style Standard is active. If you have already set active a different text style, they will use the current text style.

 

Note that the system will automatically create a Dimstyle for use by the leaders, named LandFX-Qleader-Sxxx, where xxx represents a shorthand for the scale. In this fashion, you are free to use these leaders functions on details, which will then be scaled correctly when the details are inserted into Paperspace. Further, if there is ever any issue with a leader’s display, you should be able to correct it by editing the appropriate Dimstyle.
