Change Text

The Change Text function was developed to allow an easy method of changing the font style of text either by manual selection or globally throughout the drawing.

Click on Change Text and the command line will prompt:

Select a sample of the font style to change.

After selecting a font example, the command line will prompt:

Then select any number of objects – the function will seek through whatever is selected for text objects of the same style as the sample selected. After you are done selecting, Right Click, and the Land F/X Font Select dialog box will appear. See Construction Document Graphics for Font Manager and Font Styles, and Adding Fonts and Font Styles, for more information on the Land F/X Font Select function. From here, select the font style you want to replace the style you picked above. Select Apply from the Font Select dialog box, and the text fonts you selected will be changed to the new style.

Change Line Color

The Change Line Color function allows for a system to globally change line colors on a drawing.

This function is useful in converting your office standard colors on a drawing to match a client or consultant, or to convert the line colors of a drawing from a client or consultant to match your office standards.

The drawing to be changed must have all lines drawn with Color by Layer in order for this function to be effective.

Selecting Change Line Color will bring up the Change All Layer Colors dialog box.

This dialog box lists all color numbers from 1 to 256. Highlight the number of the color you wish to edit in the drawing, and select Edit. The AutoCAD Select Color dialog box will appear. From this AutoCAD dialog box, select the color you wish to change the highlighted color to. When you go back to the Change All Layer Colors dialog box, the highlighted number will reflect the change in the From: to the To: column.

Continue highlighting the colors that will need to be changed and edit them. When you are done, and before selecting OK, you may want to save the configuration in the Change All Layer Colors dialog box. Select Save and place the saved file in the desired directory. This will be a file with a *.gcl file extension.

Select OK and all of the changes indicated will be made in the drawing.

If you have saved previous configurations of line color changes, selecting Load from the Change All Layer Colors dialog box will allow you to quickly load those changed color configurations. Then select OK and the changes are made.

Delete Layer

Delete Layer is a quick way to delete all of the lines drawn on the selected layer, as well as all of the blocks or Xref’s that are entered on the selected layer.

This is a powerful function that should be used with caution. It is best used, for example, when doing cost estimates and using a temporary layer to figure up lengths and areas. When you are finished with a procedure and want to erase all of the lines drawn on this temporary layer, use the Delete Layer function.

Click on Delete Layer and the command line will prompt:

Use the pickbox to select a line on the layer you wish to delete. In this example, let us assume you wish to delete all entities on layer X-EST1. The command line will confirm the layer you are to delete by asking:

Press Enter or right click for Yes.

Mtext Break

Mtext Break was developed to separate long Mtext files. These might include text listings of schedules or specifications that are longer than the area allowed for them.

Click on Mtext Break and the command line will prompt:

With the pickbox, select anywhere on the text you wish to break. The command line will prompt:

Click just above the text you want separated. The text will be broken into two Mtext blocks of text.
