Schematic Mainline Layout

§
Watch the video on placing equipment.
§Open the drawing Tutorial\3.03 Zones and turn off the LI-HEAD-ZONE layer. Place the Quick Couplers (or hose bibs), and the Water Meter and Backflow (or service P.O.C.).

 

Place Remote Control Valves

§
Open the drawing Tutorial\3.04 Schematic Mainline and turn on the LI-HEAD‑ZONE layer to view the circuited zones. Place some Remote Control Valves.

 

Lateral Line Piping

§
Watch the video on piping.
§
Open the drawing Tutorial\3.05 Pipe and pipe the heads in a zone to the corresponding valve. Turn on the LI-HEAD-ZONE layer when you need to see what heads are in a specific zone.

Watch the video on Highlight Station.
§
After piping the heads of a zone to the valve, use the Highlight Station function to check if all of the heads on that zone were piped.

 

Verify Lateral Piping

Watch the video on Verify Piping.

Open the drawing Tutorial\3.06 Verify Piping and use the Verify Piping function to highlight any heads that are not piped.

Watch the video on inserting pipe arcs.

 

Size the Lateral Lines

§
Open the drawing Tutorial\3.07 Size Laterals and size the lateral lines.

 

Pipe Label Organization

Hint: If it is not turned on, turn on the layer LI-PIPE-MAIN-NPLT to view the Schematic Mainline location that was drawn earlier, so as to not move a label where the mainline will be drawn.

 

Mainline Piping

 

Verify the Valves

§
Open the drawing Tutorial\3.09 Verify Mainline and use the Verify Mainline function to see that the valves and quick couplers are connected to the mainline.

 

Label the Valves

§
Open the drawing Tutorial\3.09 Verify Mainline and label the valves.

 

Size the Mainline

§
Open the drawing Tutorial\3.11 Size Mainline and size the mainline.

 

Cleanup the Mainline

§
With the mainline sized on the previous drawing, clean up where the mainline interferes with some of the lateral piping, heads, or other equipment.

 

Associate Details with the Irrigation Components

§
Open the drawing Tutorial\3.11 Size Mainline and associate a detail with each irrigation component.

 

Place the Details into the Drawing

§
Review inserting details into a drawing. Open the drawing Tutorial\3.11 Size Mainline and insert irrigation details associated from above.

 

Irrigation Schedule

§
Open the drawing Tutorial\3.11 Size Mainline and insert a variety of irrigation schedules.
