Details : Inserting Detail Callouts

Inserting Detail Callouts

Detail Callouts can be of two types:

Detail Callout is used to refer to a specific detail that has already been added to the Detail Manager, or that you know exists as a Standard or Component Detail.

Detail Placeholder is used to signify that a detail will be associated with this callout at a future date.

Detail Callouts

Step 1 – Select Insert Detail Callout

Watch the video.

When you select Detail Callout the options for the callout will appear.

The Detail Options are:

Detail Section which will create a section line at the location of the component to be detailed.

Detail Arrow will point with an arrow to the component to be detailed.

Detail Circle will encircle the component to be detailed.

Section Flag allows pointing along a section line.

Section Double provides an alternate method of pointing along a section line.

Plain option allows inserting a callout with no arrow option at all.

Include detail title: when this box is checked, the title of the detail will be printed alongside the callout.

For example, select Detail Section. The command line will ask:

Select point 1 on the drawing to define the start of the detail cut flag. The command line will ask:

Select point 2 on the drawing to define the end of the detail cut flag.

Select point 3 which will define where the horizontal leader line will occur.

Select point 4 which will be the start of the detail callout circle.

F Remember:

The detail callout is now associated with the detail selected. Notice that the callout bubble appears blank. This is because you have not yet placed the detail into the drawing, so Land F/X does not yet know the sheet and detail number to indicate this detail. When you place the detail into the drawing, no matter what sheet it is on, simply update the detail callouts and this information will automatically be filled in.

If the detail you were associating with this callout had already been placed into any drawing of the project, then the detail callout would have had the sheet number and detail number automatically filled in.

Detail Arrow simply puts an arrow point at the first selection click, and Detail Circle simply asks for the center and outer edge of a circle before placing the callout.

Step 2 – Associate a detail with the callout.

When you insert a Detail Callout, the Detail Manager for that project will appear. This will indicate any details you have previously selected for the project. You can either click on one of the existing details added to the project, thus associating it with the callout, or add a Standard or Component Detail to the project if necessary.

After selecting OK, the callout will be associated with this detail.

Detail Callouts Within a Component Detail

Watch the video.

You are able to place detail callouts within a Component Detail. This is useful to have one overall detail, that then references the other details in the component. As the detail references can not be assigned until the details are saved, there are two general ways to accomplish this:
