Update and Associate Callouts

 

Update Detail Callouts

After a Detail Callout was associated with a detail, and that detail was inserted into a drawing of the project, the callout can be updated to reflect the detail number and sheet number connected with it. As callouts in the current drawing are automatically updated as the detail is placed, this is only necessary if the corresponding detail was placed onto a different DWG.

 

When you select this function, the callouts on the current drawing will be updated.

Before selecting Update Callouts.

After selecting Update Callouts. The two Detail Callouts are updated because they had details associated with them that were inserted into another drawing. The other callout is a Placeholder Callout that has not yet had a detail associated with it, thus it is dashed.

Associate a callout to assign a specific detail to that callout. You can associate a Placeholder Callout or a Detail Callout.

 

The command line will ask:

 

Select callout to associate:

 

After selecting a callout you will be taken to the Detail Manager. From the Detail Manager, either select one of the details you have already added to the project, or add a Standard Detail or a Component Detail and highlight that detail. The callout will then be updated to a Detail Callout, and be filled in with detail number and sheet number if that detail has been inserted into a project drawing.

 

Select the Placeholder Callout to be associated with a detail.

After selecting a detail from the Detail Manager, the Placeholder Callout is updated for that detail.

F Remember: The Associate Callout function works on any callout, not just Placeholder Callouts. Use this function to associate a Detail Callout where you either change your mind or have made a mistake in its detail association.
