Quick Start

 

The Quick Start is a basic highlight of the Land F/X functions, and is intended for demo users, or as a quick review for first time users.

Place Plants into a Drawing

§
Open the drawing Tutorial\2.01 Place Plants and place plants into the drawing.

 

Label the Plan

§
Open the drawing Tutorial\2.02 Labeling Plants and label some of the plants.

 

Verify the Labels

§
Open the drawing Tutorial\2.03 Verify Plant Labels and verify that all of the plants are correctly labeled.

 

Redefining Plants

§
Open the drawing Tutorial\2.03 Verify Plant Labels and redefine a plant type, the symbol or symbol size, or any aspect of a plant.

Lateral Line Piping

Open the drawing Tutorial\3.05 Pipe and pipe the heads in a zone to the corresponding valve. Turn on the LI-HEAD-ZONE layer when you need to see what heads are in a specific zone.

After piping the heads of a zone to the valve, use the Highlight Station function to check if all of the heads on that zone were piped.

 

Verify Lateral Piping

Size the Lateral Lines

After sizing the lateral pipes, use the pipe callout functions to create, move, and delete pipe labels.

 

Label the Valves

Details

 

Detail Modules

Insert a Detail Template to prepare a detail to be saved into the system.

 

Save Details

§
Open the drawing Tutorial\5.01 Save Details. Save Details as both Standard and Component details.

 

Insert a Detail Callout

Open the drawing Tutorial\5.02 Insert Callout. Some details have been added to the project.

Update Callouts

§
Open the drawing Tutorial\5.04 Details.
§
Go to Model Space. If you have placed the rest of the details as indicated in the previous section, Insert Details into a Drawing, go to each detail placeholder and associate a detail with it. When a detail has been associated with the placeholder, the symbol will change to a detail callout with a detail number.

 

Edit and Update Details

§
Open the drawing Tutorial\5.04 Details.
§
Select Edit Detail and click on any of the placed details. Edit the detail in some fashion where you will see the difference and save it with the AutoCAD Save command.
§
Now on the drawing you first opened, select Update Details, all of the details will be re-loaded into the drawing. Notice the detail(s) you edited will be the newer version.
§
Open the drawing Tutorial\5.06 Detail Update. On this sheet are details that were purposely saved in an unfinished state for an interim project submittal, to be edited later for a complete submittal.
§
Select Edit Detail and click on one of the details. The detail is loaded (notice that it is now finished). Go back to the detail sheet and select Update Details.
