Water Source Calculation
With the watering restrictions and constraints of todays world, it is important to get a full understanding of how much water will be required for a project, what the logical and efficient watering source should be, what watering windows are required and how long it will take to water a site, and how to maximize efficiency by fine tuning the mainline and source size and flows. This course will indicate how to do all of that at the very start of the design process and without laying out a single head or emitter.
This webijnar will specifically cover:
1. Rules of Thumb for understanding the general constraints for evaluation of the irrigation system including water meter, service line, remote control valves, mainline pipe, and backflow devices.
2. Water source determination at the earliest stages of irrigation design. How to quickly determine the flow requirements and a logical and efficient water source.
3. Watering window and hydro-zone requirements at the start of the design process. How long will it take to irrigate a site based on the hydro-zones, the type of equipment desired, and how the source and the size of the mainline can affect this outcome, all at the early stages of design.

F/X CAD
Many of you have noticed our new minimum requirements for Land F/X have been raised to AutoCAD 2008. We are already well underway in engineering support for features such as Annotation scales, and ToolTip help files. We realize times are tough, and the cost of a AutoCAD license is still quite substantial. In an effort to help our users upgrade to the latest cutting-edge technology, we have spent a considerable amount of our resources on developing a lower-cost alternative. We are very grateful to Autodesk for accepting us into their AutoCAD OEM program, which has allowed us to assemble a customized version of AutoCAD 2012, which we have branded as F/X CAD. This week's webinar will showcase what it can and can't do, and how it compares to a full AutoCAD license.

RefNotes
Reference Notes are a very important part of construction documentation.
In working with hundreds of firms over the years, from one-person design-build firms up to Disney Imagineering, we have found that these notations can cover a broad range of uses. In addition to just a quick way to handle notes 1 to 99, sometimes that note is pointing to an item that has a quantity, a series of custom details, and even a photo and a 3D model. This webinar will cover the basic usage of the RefNote system, while also show its more advanced features and how they apply to hardscape and site amenities.

SketchUp & Site Amenities
Site Amenities works in conjunction with Reference Notes. Here you can add amenities such as Site Furnishings into a project, and view the manufacturer options for benches, tables, chairs, shade structures, etc. You can visit the manufacturer’s web site pertaining to a specific site item, and you can add to your project both the specific AutoCAD drawing of that actual object, but also, in the background, you would add the SketchUp 3-D model of that site item. You can then place the AutoCAD drawings of the objects into your drawing, refer notations to them, and have the notations show up in a Reference Note Schedule, keeping track of the quantity of the objects and the cost, if desired. You can then use the Land F/X “Sketchup Connection” to go to your SketchUp site base and bring in the 3-D models of you site amenities at the same location and orientation as you had in your CAD drawing.
