Hi there,

I'm trying to label my groundcovers for a planting plan.  Some are concept groundcovers, and some are single species.

Using the single label, I have successfully labeled some of my groundcovers.  But when I continue trying to label, I run into the following problem:

I will select the single label command.

I click on the groundcover that I want to label.

I click to place the first point of the mleader.

The mleader I was drawing disappears at this click, and one of my other mleaders that's already labeling a different groundcover changes to whatever I had been trying to label (it's the most recently-placed correct mleader that changes).

I'm not sure what's going on, to get my groundcovers to label correctly?

Thanks for any input!

Update:

It seems to label correctly when I label a concept groundcover.  When I try to label a single-species groundcover, it does what I described above.

Kelly,

It's likely that there's some sort of mixup in the data attached to those two plants.

Have you tried using the edit plant tool on the plant where the label is changing and make sure that it's the correct plant? You can also try placing that PER plant again on that outline, saying yes to replacing the existing plant, to refresh the data on that hatch.

If the issue still happens after trying that, please send in the drawing and project/preference data files using the technical support tool in the ribbon and I'll have a look. Here's how to do that: How to Submit a Technical Support Ticket

Kelly,

There are multiple odd things going on here -- note how when the PER label is updated, the quantity is shifting to the other side.  That makes me wonder if there is a mix of multileader style callouts alongside block style callouts.  It also could mean that some callouts have been manually edited.

The symptoms point to that PER label having been copied or moved from a label of the CP area.

Verify Plant Labels should correct any of these problems, that would be the place to start.

Thanks for the thoughts, Amanda and Jeremiah.

I tried Amanda's suggestions, to no avail.  I also tried to replicate the problem in a few blank drawings.  It seems the problem is with the Land F/X project file -- if I start a new drawing with the same Project file, I get the same problem.  If I start a new drawing with a new Project file, it works as it should.

...Unfortunately I have had trouble submitting a help ticket.  My computer will zip the files using the support tool, but afterwards I do not get a browser window (being on a company computer, maybe it has to do with permissions or pop-ups or something, I don't know).  Is there another way for me to submit the file?

Thanks,

Kelly
