Wouldn't it be nice if we could add a detail callout, or renumber callouts, or change existing numbers and have them renumber sequentially? We can do it with Valve Callouts. Maybe some code could be cut an pasted from the valve callout lisp.

Is the button you click to place those tags called Detail Bubble?
In that dialog box you can drag and drop the notes to renumber them.
The power tip is a little old but still relevant:

Steve,

There’s a Renumber button on the Detail Manager:

I know that. Jer. But haw does one change #4 to #1? Or how does one add a callout between two existing? The number is greyed out.
Is there a hot tip that I should watch that shows how this is done?
The numbers correlate to physically placed details. So to say you want #4 to be #1 means you need to open up the detail sheet and move detail #4 to where detail #1 is or was. And to make a gap between two means to physically move one to make room for the new detail.

So changing numbers like that means having the detail sheet open, moving them about, and renumbering some of them. We could build an interface for this, but it would hardly be any fewer clicks.

The best we could really do would be a Move Detail tool, where you could pick up a placed detail on the sheet, and move it to another square, taking the number of that spot. And if there was a detail in that square, it would trade places. Basically turning it into a sort of sliding tile puzzle. Like that, or what sort of interface are you thinking of?

I’m so sorry Jer. What we have here is a failure to communicate. I’m talking about the individual callouts in the detail. The ones saying what the part is. You know? The tag. The one in tag circle left or right. Not what sheet the detail is located on or where they are located on that sheet. That works just fine. Before we get too far, I’ll have to admit, it could be user error. 😜

Communication is such a key. It unlocks such wisdom! That is exactly what I was asking for. And I love the Tipsy Gypsies music in those old tips. Thanks Jer. Works like a charm.
