I need to have callouts for hardscape elements that state not only the type of pavement/gravel, etc. but also the area in square meters. Is it possible?

I won't have an estimate on when it could be implemented, since this idea sparked some discussion on how that option for quantity in the label should work, and how it would display. We're working out how to best accomplish it.

It is strange for me that this problem never showed itself before, as presenting the areas in the hardscape callouts is a very normal thing.
Since this is not implemented, and I still need to do it, what would be the best way? to treat hardscape items as groundcovers, so that i can use the plants callouts? what issues could this create?

There are multiple drawbacks to placing Areas as a ground cover -- from the choices of hatches, to the style of callout, and the lack of a Cost.
Although this is the first we have heard of it, as Amanda said it has sparked quite the discussion and will be available soon.

We have added an Area callout, available under Site Callouts.
It places as an MLeader, so you could remove the leader, and place it next to the RefNote callout.
The plan is to incorporate this as an option for the RefNote callout.
