In the planting setup Webinar a couple weeks ago we saw the use case for adding WUCOLS water usage ratings (VL, L, M, H) as a custom description category. This option is very appealing as we include this rating as a column in our standard plant list. It appears this field is filled in the project's plant manager and would thus need to be entered each time a plant is added to a new project. Where this rating generally would not change from project to project (assuming all projects are in the same WUCOLS Zone) it would be great if there was a way to add this field to the overall plant library so the WUCOLS rating is auto populated to future projects once initially entered.

We do plan to have the plant database able to handle fields like this, but it would be a difficult fit as it would vary by zone, but also by microclimate.
As such, it is still a better fit as shown in the webinar, as a user field that can be altered project-by-project if necessary.
It is recommended to save your master plant palette as a Template, so that when adding plants from there to a new project, all of those fields are filled out.
