Yet another big wish list!  With some minor bug issues to fix!

  1. ·         Allow repeated placement of drip zone operation indicators, without automatic numbering.  Make them just like placing drip flush valves, once you’ve indicated the text you want in the symbol.  Or just make it a default (I use “ID”).
  2. ·         Put drip irrigation filters made by landscape drip irrigation manufacturers in the drip section, instead of the generalized equipment section.  Fancy big filter systems probably should stay where they are.
  3. ·         Add the Hunter PLD-BV insert ball valve to the drip flush valve selections, just like the Netafim TLSOV.
  4. ·        Leaders with text—how about a lasso option to go with the arrows?
  5. ·         Is there a way to adjust pipe linetype scales to show the dashes in smaller lengths of pipe?  I can, of course, select them all and change it manually in Properties, but it’d be nice if there was another way.
  6. ·         Can we add Zurn (Wilkins) PRVs to the equipment line-up?  And the 950XLT and -XLT2 DCVAs?
  7. ·         [bug]  When piping laterals with ORTHO on, moving left to right, the pipe will suddenly snap up vertically when clicking on the next head (this happens with head auto-snap as well), and leave a short length of vertical pipe, which the system shows as connected (via Highlight Station), even though it visibly isn’t.  This does not happen when piping in any other direction, just left to right, orthogonally.
  8. ·         [bug] Similarly, when placing fixed quarter circle sprays with ORTHO on, the head will not snap into the NE orientation. It will at all other directions.  Sometimes it will, but most often not.  I haven’t noticed any obvious conditions either way that could cause, or not cause, this.
  9. ·         [bug]  For some reason, Settings is not respecting my choice of font for main line pipe size.  I’ve set it to Roman Duplex, but it always shows up as something else.  When I go in to Edit the font, it’s already set to RD.  Which fixes things, but it’d be nice to not have to this every time.

That’s it!  Thanks for looking.

Tom,

Let's try to answer some of those, shall we?

  1. Allow repeated placement of drip zone operation indicators, without automatic numbering.
    1. We already have this noted. There are several different types of equipment with attribute symbols and they all have differing functions. We will continue to try and find the best solution for this but for now, go ahead and take a look at your current options, here.
  2. Put drip irrigation filters made by landscape drip irrigation manufacturers in the drip section.
    1. Is there a reason filtration cannot stay as filtration?
  3. Add the Hunter PLD-BV insert ball valve to the drip flush valve selection.
    1. I'm sure we can get this on the list of things to.. oh wait, I just added it for you. Merry Christmas!
  4. Leaders with text—how about a lasso option.
    1. We are open to suggestions as to how this would be possible. So far we have not had great luck in finding a viable solution to this.
  5. Is there a way to adjust pipe linetype scales to show the dashes in smaller lengths of pipe.
    1. No. That defeats the purpose of keeping and maintaining the actual scale of the given linetypes. The fact that the linetype doesn't fully show in a given length shouldn't be a deterrent to the contractor to know what that pipe should be
  6. Can we add Zurn (Wilkins) PRVs to the equipment line-up.
    1. Since Zurn is not a supporting manufacturer, they definitely might have some missing equipment. Best course of action would be to get ahold of your contact at Zurn and suggest they jump on board so we can dedicate the needed time to update their product lines.
  7. When piping laterals with ORTHO on.
    1. Go ahead and submit a tech support ticket with the drawing/project data files with this issue happening and we can take a deeper look.
  8. Placing fixed quarter circle sprays with ORTHO on.

  9. Settings is not respecting my choice of font for main line pipe size.
    1. This is not a bug. It sounds like you have the given text style defined in the drawing already, and when you adjust from the manager, and have it actually set the way you want, the system is updating that style for you. You would get the same result if you were to run the REAT command. Fix the drawing from the start to have no existing text styles defined and the Mainline pipe labels will come in properly.

Hi Jake,

Yay, thanks for the PLD-BV add!

As for #2, I'll sometimes place, say, a Rain Bird PRF-075-RBY to filter/regulate a drip line area, which is not part of a drip control zone kit.  It should show up in the irrigation schedule with other drip equipment.

For #4, how about just some open circles, maybe just 2 - 3 (S, M, & L), for different line weights?

I'll send support tickets in on the others.

Thanks!

I agree Tom. When we are configuring our drip valves (not the standard manufacturers drip valves) we have the same issue. Sometimes we just don't show the symbol and we add the language to the valve description in the schedule. But we like to show the symbol and it would be nice if they showed up in the drip portion of the schedule. What about the in-line pressure regulators?

I've messaged Zurn. Please do so too.

As far as the lasso tag goes, it will probably be more like the pipe sizing lasso. Would you like that? What will you use it for?

Hi SW,

Do you have a contact at Zurn?  I have no idea who the rep is up here in the PNW.

As for the lasso, I would use if from time to time to call out borders or property lines, or pipe symbols from xrefs or other people's drawings, etc.  It's not critical, but would be a nice option.

Tom,

I don't know who your rep is. You can call (855) 663-9876 and find out who your rep is. Your rep will probably be your biggest ally in this, not customer service.

BTW, I love your idea for using a lasso to label property lines and such.
