I have read all of the documentation and logic applied regarding the new refnote categories. But we are a small office and prefer the old original system for organizing refnote categories. Is there some way to "op-out" of the new system and use the old original one without having to manually recreate it? Otherwise we are back to having just one "General Category" for all of our refnotes because we do not require the extra layers of complexity. Thank you for any comments and suggestions.
Gail,
The categories in the refnote preferences are completely editable.
You can delete any categories in there.
The default folders include the CSI divisions at the top, and the old lettered divisions at the bottom. So just delete the CSI divisions if you don't want them and use the letters instead.

Hi Amanda. I was referring to your "original" refnote category numbering system that had no letters, instead it was 01-Paving, 03-Walls, 04-Site Improvements. Can you please find them in the archives and tell me what those were so we can continue to use them? Thank you!
Gail,
I've gone back as far as I can find, and I got this condensed list:
01 General
02 Existing Conditions
03 Concrete
04 Masonry
31 Earthwork
32 Exterior Improvements
C Curb
D Demolition
F Fence
G Gate
K Rock
P Pacing
R Rail
S Site Furnishings
W Wall

However, if you're saying that you used to have a preference set with a different organization system, you can always restore it from your backups (if you were backing up as we recommend).
Go to your LandFX/data/backups folder, and find the oldest folder that has a preference set in it.

Use the steps to restore it.
Restoring a Project, Template, or Preference Set

You'd be best not to overwrite anything until you're sure you've restored what you want, so you might need to rename your existing imperial preference set for now (by creating a copy with a new name by clicking New in the manage options).
