I'm trying to customize the detail preference set and I've run into an issue I can't seem to solve. I "manage" the default preference set and then click New and name it. Then I change the detail template sizes to what I want and then click "Open Template". I modify the template to the way we need it including moving the right tick mark to the desired distance from the left tick mark, save, and close. When I insert a template around one of our existing details, at any scale, the title block is too wide (wider than the template outline). The tick marks are coming in just slightly up and to the right of the bottom left corner of the template outline and the title block is offset from that to the left. In the template everything is aligned to the tick marks. Everything else seems to be working just fine including the title text, scale text, and detail letter. I can't figure out what's causing these and I am out of ideas. I've attached a screen capture so you can see what I'm seeing.
Jon,

It could be that when you go to insert the detail template, the current preferences are not your new setting -- there is a dropdown box in the detail template dialog box to confirm the desired preferences.
Note that for working with details, it is recommended to have your desired preferences be alphabetically first, so that from a blank drawing, the default preferences will correspond with your preferred template size and other settings. You may wish to just go to the Manage dialog box, and delete the other preferences so that your revised one is the only preference set available.
