I don’t see much chatter on here about detail keynotes. Has anybody reading this implemented these into your practice. I have not yet, but am seriously considering it. I’d be curious to hear others’ experiences with this system. Good, bad, in-between. Or, just tips in general. I use Reference Notes extensively but have yet to move beyond text annotations in details.

To the Land FX folks, one thing that has kept me from exploring detail keynotes further in the past is the limitations to numbers only, and then only 6 digits (I think)—I’d like to be able to add more digits or to add letters similar to National Cad Standards. I know there are some limitations with what you can do (for reasons that are beyond me, technically), but I wondered if there was something on the horizon I should be looking forward to.

Rob,

Our Detail Keynote system exclusively uses a MasterFormat style numbering system, exactly as outlined by the NCS. You can number notes with up to 8 digits, in the format XXXXXX-XX

As for what's coming down the horizon, we do plan on connecting the Detail Builder to this, enabling dropping in pieces and parts of objects to build a detail and have them pre-assigned their corresponding keynote.

Jeremiah,

Good to know that the Detail Keynote system allows up to 8 digits. Perhaps I should've looked a little more closely since it's been quite some time since I've explored that system, and I was thinking that it was limited to fewer digits. I'm going to give the system as is a whirl.

Your plan to connect the Detail Builder to the Detail Keynote system sounds amazing! I look forward to the rollout of those features.

Thanks!
