What do you all use or recommend using for showing 1/4" drip distribution tubing between emitters and multi-outlet emitters (ie. Rain Bird) XBT-05-06; XBD-80) or blank tubing, such as Rain Bird's 1/2" XF or XT-700 distribution tubing.

Amanda,

Yes, you can go into your projects pipe data dialog and add a pipe class there, typically using class 9 so it is cut off from there systems autosizing features. You can then set the class, size, and linetype to what you need it to be, then change the name and description to reflect your blank tubing. You would then just use the lateral pipe tool and switch to class 9 by typing the "9" key on your keyboard, and pipe away!

Cbillete,
We definitely recommend showing this type of detail within the specific detail that would be associated to the emitter/drip equipment you actually show in the plan. To try and show this level of detail in the plan is over thinking the design. You could also list such miscellaneous material in the schedule description so the contractor knows what to do regarding the particular equipment shown in the plan.

Another reason this typically isn't shown on the plan is that the irrigation layout is definitely more graphical and a lot of times things change out on site (as I'm sure you are well aware). If you really really want to show these types of tubing paths, just make a unique layer and draw your lines with the Polyline tool.

Thanks Jake,
it's not something we typically do. it was asked specifically how we would lay out the piping and emitters, kind of like an electrical one-line diagram.

We would also like to show the blank distribution tubing using LandFX for a special situation. Typically we do not do this. Can we add a custom pipe for the blank tubing in the pipe data to show on our plans?

Thanks, Amanda
