I noticed that among the version update history list issued with update 12.05 there was an entry for "Spot Elevation callout, Grid placement mode added." Well, today I went to add some spot elevations and noticed that I am given the option to press "G" for grid placement mode. Long story short is that I've tried it to see what it does and can't quite figure it out. Nothing seems to happen when I enter a maximum grid amount and create a top left and bottom right corner. It seems like "grid placement mode" might be a highly useful feature. Can we get some tips on how it's supposed to be used? Thanks!

If you have topo in your plan, our spot elevation tool will read in those topo elevations automatically. So, take this a bit further and use the grid command, it will place spot elevations at the specified grid spacing along all contours in the given pick box area.

If this is not working for you, feel free to send in your drawing and we can better explain what needs to be done in order for the tool to work.

I just tried it in a plan with topo and it worked perfectly. Thanks for the explanation!
