Has anyone used LandFX to generate a shading plan? Many agencies are now requiring it as part of the site plan submittal.

If you've used LandFX to help you, please let me know what tools you used. I'm thinking of using the groundcover command to help generate the areas but want to know if ther eis anything relative ot the process or area takeoff that result from that method that we should be aware of.
I have done a bunch of shade study’s with sketchup... you can set the geo location, date, and time and show a wide range of shade studies and the output them as jpegs for insertion into an image board... the only limitation is coming up with a percentage... however you could scale the plan view jpeg and hatch the shadows and do a take-off.

Just a thought

I've also used sketchup for shade studies, but only for our own analysis--we've never been required to submit a shade analysis for review. Sorry I've nothing helpful to add to the discussion, Seaweed, but I'd be interested to know how others are handling this type of thing.
I've also used SketchUp for this and exported a plan-view image to reference in CAD. I'd be interested to see the requirements.

Did you decide on anything in particular?
