Hello,

My city requires all irrigation permitting to be submitted with an irrigation design with all bells and whistles, including a hydraulic run. I’m wondering if Irrigreen is supported or what would be the alternative for LandFX to create a design and placing Irrigreen sprays.

Thanks
Raul,

We've had some talks with Irrigreen, and they expressed interest, but it is a challenging product to incorporate with our system.
They have a design module incorporated into their web site, which seems to be the best way to work with them.
Using our software, you could technically create a custom Bubbler with a radius of 30' and a flow of 10 GPM, which is about the closest you can get to approximating their product. But technically they are Valve-in-Head devices, so more accurately you would need to use Caps set to 10 GPM, and then just manually draw the 30' spray limits. That would at least give you the hydraulic calculations to satisfy a worst case scenario.
But even the technical documentation they provided to us is very limited compared to any other product that we have dealt with. Adding the variable flow, and it makes things like precip rate very challenging to calculate. They have asked us to estimate development costs, but given the sparse nature of their technical specs, we're not even sure what we could possibly engineer.
We're happy to consider it and talk with them more. We would like to see an example plan to get a sense for how best to show it. And we will need more technical information, to clarify exactly the performance under 10', and why the web site shows a maximum flow of 10 GPM but the technical chart shows a maximum flow of ~8.3 GPM at 80 PSI. The other products that we deal with have more standardized traditional performance charts, which is what we are used to. As it is, it just feels that the Irrigreen product is more of a direct to consumer product, which is perfectly fine. But to be incorporated into our software, it will need to feel more like a professionally designed and installed product.

Hey Jeremiah,

Thank you for this in-depth response. To be honest, I think you gave me enough information to present to my local water purveyor. They are the ones asking for the design plan. In reality, and based on my conversations with them, they are aware of the challenges associated with this new product and understand that this is an ongoing learning process for them as well. From what I gathered, I will need to prepare the general infrastructure layout (valves, backflow, piping, heads, etc.) along with a hydraulic run. This part I can do manually, knowing that with Irrigreen, 10 GPM is the approximate maximum, give or take. I think your suggestion of a custom bubbler solves the need for manual calculations. As for the coverage area, I can potentially use your concept area layout, and that should be sufficient.I will come back once I have everything completed on my end and provide an update on how it went.
