*Puts on fireproof pants* - We do not use CTB plot by color. I have read all of the posts on the topic I can find in this forum, the very valid arguments for CTB in the LandFx knowledge base, and watched the duck video. We still do not use CTB plot by color, and its not going to happen, for many many reasons. Feel free to be disappointed.

So... request:d
Would it be *possible* for your team to assign lineweights to the blocks and entities that LandFX creates? You have already taken the time to assign layer names and colors, and have a lineweight intended to be used for your entities by your color choices. There is even what I assume is a lineweight designation in the layer name (013M, 025M, etc). So it seems like you could also set the lineweight at the same time. Does having a lineweight set conflict with CTB plot by color?

I am aware of the tool in the general preferences to change block colors, and that the dialog has a lineweight pull down... but I do not think this will address what I am requesting... unless I am missing something. That tool seems intended to change one color to another (and lineweight for that color?), regardless of the layer. We are fine with the colors you have, and your intended lineweights. We just want the layers that LandFX creates to also have lineweight assigned to the layer along with the color assigned.

I have attached a screenshot of our plot style setting for reference.

Thank you for your consideration,
Tim CVL plot style.gif

Ah yes, sorry, there is one important step missing - you need to be using STBs.
Since you effectively are, you are not using color-based printing, you might as well just convert to STB.

Tim,

The setting in Preferences is exactly what you want. The system will do just as you want, and assign the desired lineweight to the layer. The same applies with the Block Layers - as it inserts a block, it will assign lineweights to those layers as well.

Hi Jeremiah,

Well, that is awesome news. I just need to figure it out then.... which I just tried and it didn't work for me.

We have already change the lineweights in preferences>general. I opened the block edit dialog, and went through each color and had it stay the same color, but assigned it a lineweight. So for example color 13 stayed color 13, but I changed the lineweight from default to 0.13mm. Then I opened a new drawing, inserted a tree symbol (from the generic plants tool). It added the tree layers, like LK-TREE-013M which is color 13, but the lineweight stayed at default. What am I missing? Is it because we have already downloaded that block, so it already has default lineweight assigned? Let me try to use a block that will need to be downloaded. BRB.

Nope... I used a rabbit elevation. I am fairly sure no one has used a rabbit elevation block in any drawings, so it should have downloaded it. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!
Tim
