We (Stantec) need additional character spots for project numbers in the Project Manager. We need at least one more (13 not 12), but what's the restriction anyway? Four for the Business Center (BC), six for our office project number, and three to cover the decimal point and two number task extension. Will this be difficult?

The Projects dialog box is getting a new look, with the ability to organize projects in a hierarchy.
The increase in the project number got lumped in with that endeavor.
Currently some other projects are higher priority: conceptual graphics, irrigation, and concept planting. So this is now looking like more of a late summer timeline.
I would agree that 16 is a good limit.

It sounds like 14 would actually serve you better, letting you separate Business Center from Project Number, giving you BC-PM.TT
Right?

It's just a database limit, but with project number being the key field, it does complicate it a little.
However for Cloud users that is a bit easier, that is something we could change ahead of the local data users.

I'll get this on the list to be addressed in January.

I would actually say 15-16 characters would be better served. Have there been any further discussions on this topic? Also will there be filters so that you can search for your project?
