I am looking for a Polyline tool/command that would make drawing paths much easier. Currently, to draw a meandering sidewalk, path, or curb we draw the center line then offset a line from the center or from one side to create the 'path'.  Once it is drawn making adjustment becomes somewhat inefficient. It becomes even more problematic to adjust if a hatch pattern is used in the path outline .  It would be great to be able to manipulate the 'path' with hatch similar how you would with a single Polyline.  I have attempted using the rail/wall command but this only creates blocks and is not helpful for this purpose.

Jason,

How is the Railing tool's block insufficient?  You can fire the tool again to revert the block to its source Polyline.  Beyond adding to the Railing tool as necessary, the other option would be to just automate your existing workflow.  But that's basically what the Railing tool does, it just blocks the finished creation.

The rail tool for what it is great.  What I am looking for would be more or less a double polyline that is 'linked' for quick editing that could incorporate a hatch pattern.  Similar to MLINE but with the ability to do arcs.

Jason,

We can't invent object types. We are limited to what can be done manually with AutoCAD.  Even as a dynamic block, I'm fairly certain that wouldn't work with arcs.

Hence back to something like the Railing tool, which can revert the complex block back to its source polyline able to be edited.
