Irrigation Designers unit!

Who would like to see cleaner drawings with fewer steps? If you answered yes then I need your help voting for a new feature. Ever wish that your pipe sleeves would terminate at a designated line in lieu of two random points? Do you hate having to go back and trim/extend pipe sleeves to get them flush with curbs/sidewalks/roadway line work?

Then vote for an "Extend/Trim Sleeving Feature" this November on Land F/X. See the attached picture book for further information.

This ad was approved by a lonely irrigation designer.
Sean,

Aren't your irrigation sleeves schematic anyway? I mean you're not really showing the mainline and lateral lines where they're really going. Are you? Usually we show them offset the actual locations (in the street or sidewalk). We do the same with valves and the like. We use a not similar to the following: Irrigation equipment (valves, pipe, controllers, equipment, etc.) is shown schematically. All irrigation equipment is to be installed in lawn or planter areas. There shall no changes in direction of any piping located under pavement. We have a note relative to our sleeves that includes among other things the following: ...Sleeves are shown schematically and shall extend 12" min. beyond any pavement (curbs, walks, walls, etc).

If you would like an example of the above, let me know.

Seaweed
we extend our sleeves past the curb and the two lines being the same length is similar to how the sleeve pipe will be cut. As with Seaweed it is a schematic/graphical representation, i would however like to see the ability to select multiple laterals that you want to sleeve together and some how represent that... Thoughts?

Bob,
We have improved the pipe sleeving to allow the user to make the pipe sleeve as wide as they feel it needs to be, to include the given pipes within that sleeve area. Is this what you are referring to?
WOW! i just went into an irrigation plan and did exactly what I wanted... that is so cool. Is this a relatively new improvement? As always LandFX is on the cutting edge of everything we need!

Thanks.

Seaweed | Bob - Yes we have a similar note that goes on all of our irrigation plans stating the irrigation layout is schematic in nature and contractor shall make minor field adjustments as needed. We are trying to simply have the ability to select the pipe desired to receive a sleeve then select the curb lines that the sleeves will be drawn between. Thus eliminating the need to go back and trim/extend them to have a clean drawing. It may just be our office but we find that other disciplines tend to terminate lines at random points, instead of drafting to the apparent intersecting point/end points/mid points/perpendicular point.

Jake - Then pipe sleeving update that come out a month back (or so) is a great jump forward in the width selection and the right click option. It did unfortunately eliminate the Osnap function. Could this come back in addition to the feature request above?

Cheers,
Oh Jake. You beat me to it. I'm watching the webinar and was going to reply after that. You are on the ball! great job.
