Hi All,

Sorry if this has been covered, couldn't find it...

When I edit the symbol for a particular plant in my current project, it changes that plant in a previously worked-on project. In the new project I associated the plant with a groundcover hatch instead of a symbol and when I went back to the previously finished project, all of the symbols were gone from the drawing and regenerating the schedule omitted the plant entirely from the schedule as well. A look at the particular plant in the manager via the edit function showed that the new groundcover hatch from the other drawing was associated.

Not sure if I used the previous project's plant list as a template or starting point for this new one but I'm pretty sure I did. (Sorry, I'm new to LandFX and still trying to understand the quirks.)

Am I missing something?

Gracias, Gentle Graders.
Jeff,

This definitely means that you are using the same Land F/X Project for all of these jobs.
The first thing you should do, is from a blank drawing go to the Projects screen, and get a sense for what is going on. Basically go through your projects, opening them and diving into the Plant Manager, perhaps even running schedules with the Entire Palette option, to see what is where.
Secondly, for any past drawing files that you would like to lock and prevent any changes to, you can simply mark the DWG as read-only from Windows. This will prevent any of the Land F/X startup routines, allowing you to then open the drawing and take a look. Once a drawing is open, you can go to the Projects screen, which will highlight the project currently associated with that dwg. If necessary, you can reassociate it a different project, by selecting it and clicking the Open button.
Let me know if that helps!

Jeff,

Jer's reply is the answer to your current dilemma. Since your at this stage (finding quirks) know that making changes to a preference set can also affect previous separate projects.

Indeed, that was the problem! Thanks for the guidance, gents.
