Residential Landscape Design Associate

We are Jeff Wortham and Associates, a small Residential Landscape Architecture firm located in Pleasanton, CA. Our project sizes average $70k- $200k but we do some very large ones as well so there is a lot of variety in our project types. We are also plant design specialist. We design 50-60 projects per year. Some of the benefits of our business model are variety of projects, you will see your work come to life in a relatively short period and have a connection to the user of your work.

We serve the east bay 680 corridor from Pleasanton to Walnut Creek roughly. I am willing to look at working with someone remotely who is well versed at Land F/X. If not, you must live within a 30 minute car drive to Pleasanton or be willing to locate here to apply. You need a reliable car to get to work and or job sites.

We are looking for someone with the desire to learn and be part of a small, tight knit design team. As a small firm of 2-4 people each person needs to be able to wear different hats as the situation requires.
You will get a lot of variety as you learn our system and broaden your skill set. This is an opportunity to grow your professional skills at a fast rate. The trade off is we operate at a higher intensity than some other offices. That said, we work a 40-45 hour week so you won’t be asked to work long hours that will burn you out.

Required:
Associates degree in Landscape Design or Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture
Basic Understanding of CAD, Vectorworks or LandFX. We use Land FX.
Teachable - Willing to keep learning
Punctual
Desired:
Proficiency with Sketchup

Pay is based on experience and skill set. Our pay scale is very competitive.

Please do not contact me through the website, that gets screened a lot of the time.

Please review our website and look at our design process video http://www.jeffwortham.com/design/ on the cover page so you have an understanding of what we do and how we do it. I want to make sure anyone that applies understands what they are applying to be a part of and that you are excited about that potential. Please say a few words about why you would like to work with us in your cover letter. We love what we do and want team members that care about the same things, not just having a job. Thanks in advance for considering us.
