I would like to see the sketchup plugin integrate a custom UCS. Implementation could act as follows:
<blockquote>
Click export layer in the sketchup plugin
LandFX looks for a Custom UCS called... errr... SketchupUCS
If its not present, it prompts for an origin point and direction
</blockquote>

The reason is because of these engineers I work with... Everything we draw is in a survey datum. So, all of our plans are out at 297,468x and 174,345y (or close... you get the idea). The distance away from the origin negatively impacts sketchup models by slowing their performance, increasing file size, and lowering accuracy. Often corners in autocad end up with gaps in sketchup. But if the origin point is closer, they will intersect.

I could remember to change my UCS each time... but...

When you use Export Layer, it currently uses whichever UCS is active.
So..... yeah, you *could* just remember to set the correct UCS active.
Duly noted, however, and agreed that we could put more validation code in there.
