Occasionally we need to swap the order of sheets- let's say we have two detail sheets, and we decide we want to switch them so the details that were previously on L.3 will now be on L.4 and vise versa. How do we swap them in the project manager sheet index? The only way I have found is to delete both sheets from the sheet index, create them anew, and reassign them. Is this the best way?

Katherine,
It sounds like all you need to do is select the sheet in the Sheet Index and edit the name. Since there will already be that sheet number in the index, you can temporarily name it something else, for example: L.3 would turn to L.3-1 while you change L.4 to L.3. Then you would change L.3-1 to L.4. If you have assigned your sheets correctly, these changes will take effect and adjust the details and callouts appropriately. You could then simply rearrange the layout tabs to the proper order.

Thank you, that seems really simple- I think I have just gotten confused because I lose track of where I am in the process of renaming things in multiple places. One piece of information that I think would be helpful for keeping track of where I am: in the sheet index, it says the file name, but not which layout tab is associated with each sheet. Is there a way to reveal that information?

Katherine,
We actually have a few pending wishlist items that this would fall into. I will make sure to put you as another vote for showing the assigned layout tab within the Sheet Index! The system will prompt you if you try and assign a sheet that has already been assigned to a layout. It will tell you which layout the sheet is assigned to, but I agree, this info should be a bit more upfront. Thanks for the suggestions.
