Hi all,

I’m running into an issue with text styles in Land F/X. I have Century Gothic loaded into CAD as a TTF font and would like to use it across one of my Preference Sets. Ideally, I want to set all my text styles to Century Gothic so it’s consistent and I don’t have to think about it again.

Here’s what’s happening:
-In CAD, Century Gothic shows up and works fine.
-In Land F/X, when I go to Preferences → General → Edit (for example, editing Schedule Text), the Century Gothic style is not available in the drop-down.
-If I click <Add New>, Century Gothic still does not show as an option.
-I’ve tried reloading the font in Windows and restarting CAD, but no luck.
-I also explored whether Century Gothic could be downloaded as an SHX font, but that doesn’t seem to be an option either.
-I’ve had success with other fonts/styles, but Century Gothic specifically seems to be giving me problems.

My question:
Is there a way to load Century Gothic so it becomes available in Land F/X Preferences? I’d love to set it once in my Preference Set and not have to worry about it again.

Thanks in advance for any input!

Patrick,

The only reason the font would be unable to be selected, is if it is an OTF font file instead of a TTF. And note that some troublemakers have been known to attempt to rename a file from OTF to TTF in a doomed attempt to get around this restriction. So it requires previewing the font to confirm it has “TrueType Outlines”.

Patrick,
When you installed the font, did you right-click it and choose to 'Install for all users'?

We have occasionally seen this behavior- where a font installs and works in AutoCAD, but not in Land F/X- if the font was not installed using that method. That is described in step 2 of our knowledge based article.
