I've been asked by some people in our company about how LandFX handles AutoCAD 2019. We've found that after going through the workstation setup it works fine on both our 2017 AutoCAD as well as our 2019 AutoCAD.
There is one thing to watch out for if you run the new version as well as an old version of AutoCAD. Some design teams like to keep existing projects in the versions that they've been working in and to start new projects in the new version. I'm not a proponent of this, but if you do this, just be aware that if you edit a detail in a sheet from a project that has been migrated to 2019 that detail will be a v.2019 detail. That detail may also be referenced on a previous version's project's sheet. If you open up a previous versions sheet that includes that detail, it may be displayed properly (not updated) but it won't be editable (word?) through the sheet. You may have to convert that sheet to 2019. Just beware.
An easy way to solve this it to just make the conversion to all of your projects. I mean, when you open up any drawing, use your new version of AutoCAD (don't try to maintain the older projects in the earlier AutoCAD release). Then there'e no issues. The down side of this is if you are working with other disciplines (or consultants) who have not moved to 2019, they will (or you will) need to down-save the drawings (or use the AutoCAD conversion utility). The user can also use eTransmit>Transmittal Setups>File Format to accomplish the down-saving for an entire project or selected sheets through the AutoCAD Sheet Set Manager.
I sincerely appreciate the LandFX team and their dedication to respond to their user base.

Why not just set the Save As version in Options, Open and Save tab?

I'm not sure that I understand. Do you mean that if one is editing a detail through a sheet, one can save the detail as an earlier version so that the detail works with with earlier versions in which it was placed in the sheets? Or do you mean that if you are sending your drawings to someone else, you can save them all individually? Or do you mean that you can use the earlier version, but save all of your drawings to an earlier version?

I'd like the idea of just making the switch. Everything goes to the newest version. If you have to send the files to someone, eTransmit using the older version. Sheet Set just makes it easier to sent the whole set (all of the sheets and even model files if necessary). Right?

BTW Jer. I've made a reservation at a hotel in San Diego by the Aerospace Museum already. I'm really looking forward to seeing you and others of the LandFX team. Sheryl has ordered a stewardess costume. I can't decide if I'm going as Tom Cruise or Tom Hanks or Leslie Nielsen. Whomever I go as, please "Don't call me Shirley."

In the AutoCAD options, Open and Save tab, you can set the file version to use when saving.

This can especially help when only part of a team has upgraded to a newer version.  If the 2019 users set their SaveAs version to 2013, even details they create will saved as 2013 dwg's.

Looking forward to chatting in San Diego!
