VELOCITY IS SET TO 2.3

Currently the default velocity for a POC is hard-coded as 2.3 m/s.
This is the first time anyone has wanted to change the default.
We can definitely consider adding this setting to the irrigation preferences.

Am requesting this because u=in our design criteria we consider the maximum permissible velocity is 1.5 m/s.

Wow Nabil. That's really slow for velocity through a meter. Sometimes we will slow out velocity in our pipes down to 3 FPS (1m/s). But that's only in a situation that we need extra pressure and we're loosing it through friction loss.

This is going to be interesting for Jer. In America meters are sized by flow. Agencies will dictate the size based on flow. Does LandFX calculate meter loss based on some generic water meter manufacturer? AWWA doesn't have a standard for velocity. Rather they have standards for meter flows. Those days are gone and this is left to the purveyors now set the standards as flow that are based on the manufacturers accuracy testing. AWWA Operating Characteristics Cold Water Meters
