The Site Amenities Manager (Smart Blocks)

Our Site Amenities Manager provides a quick and easy way to specify site amenities and place them in your drawing. As with Amenity Reference Notes, site amenities added with the Site Amenities Manager are "smart" Land F/X blocks that can include data such as manufacturer, model number, and per-unit cost.

Site Amenities Manager Overview

Open the Site Amenities Manager:

F/X Site ribbon, Site Amenities option

or type FX_Amenities in the Command line

1. Once you've added site amenities to your project, they'll be listed here. If you haven't added any amenities to your project, the list will be blank.

2. Add a New site amenity to your project.

3. Edit a site amenity you've added to your project.

4. Delete a site amenity from your project.

5. Import site amenities from another project or template.

6. Place a site amenity in your drawing.

7. Use a Callout to label a site amenity in your drawing.

8. Place a Schedule listing all site amenities you've placed in your drawing.

Adding a New Site Amenity to Your Project

To add a new site amenity, click the New button in the Site Amenities Manager.

The Select Manufacturer dialog box will open. (See image below.)

Adding a Site Amenity from a Manufacturer

The Select Manufacturer dialog box lists the Land F/X Partner Manufacturers whose products are included in our database.

If you want, you can select a specific site amenities category from the menu at the top of the dialog box.

We'll keep the default selection, Site Furnishings.

You'll see two links to the right of each manufacturer's logo:

  • Send me their catalog: Click this link to have a digital version of that manufacturer's product catalog sent to your email address.

  • Web site: Click this link to open the manufacturer's Web site and view further information about the products you can specify.

To select a manufacturer, scroll to and click that manufacturer's logo (example: BRP).

The Select Model dialog box will open.

1. Change Manufacturer: Click this link to go to another manufacturer in our database.

2. Use this menu to select the category of site amenities you'd like to specify.

3. Select a type of amenity within the selected category.

4. Select the series of the selected amenity type that you'd like to specify.

5. Here, you'll see thumbnail images of all available models within the selected category, type, and series of site amenity. Click a model's thumbnail image to add that model to your project.

The Select Model dialog box will open. If applicable, you can make further configurations on the selected model.

You can also click More Info to get more information on the model you've selected, or Materials/Colors to see further information on the available materials and colors.

Click OK when finished.

The New Reference Note dialog box will open. Here, you can configure all the data attached to the site amenity.

Site amenities are added to your project as Amenity Reference Notes. For specific information on configuring all the settings in this dialog box, see our Adding Information to an Amenity Reference Note documentation.

Once you've added any necessary data, click OK to add the site amenity to your project.

You'll now see the site amenity listed in the Site Amenities Manager.

The amenity you added will also be listed in the Reference Notes Manager.

You can edit or place the site amenity from either manager.

Adding a Generic Site Amenity

To add a generic site amenity, click the Generic button in the Select Manufacturer dialog box.

You'll be brought to our Plan Graphics library. Expand one of the categories of site amenities in the left pane of the dialog box by clicking the plus (+) sign next to it (example: Site Furnishings). Then select a type of amenity from the expanded category (example: Tables).

Click one of the thumbnail images in the right portion of the dialog box to select that site amenity (example: TABLE-O-01).

For more information on our Plan Graphics library, see our Plan Graphics documentation page. Although the Plan Graphics are inherently generic blocks with no data attached, the Site Amenities Manager allows you to add your own data to these blocks and add them to your project as "smart" blocks.

When you select a site amenity to add, the New Reference Note dialog box will open. Here, you can configure all the data attached to the site amenity.

As with manufacturers'' specific products, generic site amenities are added to your project as Amenity Reference Notes. For specific information on configuring all the settings in this dialog box, see our Adding Information to an Amenity Reference Note documentation section.

Because you are adding a generic object, you'll need to identify it with a note in the Note field. We'll give our table site amenity the name Round Table.

Once you've added any necessary data, click OK to add the site amenity to your project.

You'll now see the site amenity listed in the Site Amenities Manager.

The amenity you added will also be listed in the Reference Notes Manager.

You can edit or place the site amenity from either manager.

Placing a Site Amenity

To place a site amenity, highlight it in the Site Amenities Manager and click Place.

You can also place a site amenity from the Reference Notes Manager by highlighting it and clicking Place.

You'll now see an image of the site amenity at the cursor crosshairs.

Click once to place the site amenity. Click again to set its rotation.
