Quick video
Use our Highlight tool to find every placed instance of a selected Land F/X object, then optionally convert that collection into a SketchUp selection. Highlight can be helpful when you need to verify placement, get quantities quickly, or select all matching objects.
Highlight Tool Overview
You can activate Highlight in one of the following ways:
- Right-click a Land F/X smart object and select Highlight from the context menu.
- In the Plant Manager (pictured) or Site Amenities Manager, select an item in the list, then click the Highlight button.
- Click Highlight in the Land F/X toolbar or from the Land F/X extension submenu.
If you activate the Highlight tool from the toolbar or extension submenu with no Land F/X smart object pre-selected, your mouse cursor will turn into an eyedropper icon, and the tool will wait for you to click a Land F/X smart object in the model to use it as the source object to highlight.
When your cursor hovers on a valid Land F/X smart object, that object will preview in yellow to confirm it can be selected.
Click the source object you want to evaluate.
The Highlight tool will outline all matching instances in yellow across the model.
As soon as a source item is selected, check the status bar for the running total.
For most items, the total will be shown as a quantity (instance count). For area-based items such as groundcovers, the total will be shown as cumulative area in project units.
If the object you need is nested within a group or component, hold the Alt key (Windows) or Command key (Mac) while clicking to deep-select a nested Land F/X object.
To convert the collection of highlighted objects into an active SketchUp selection, press Enter or Return.
The Highlight tool will add the highlighted objects to the selection set and deactivate.
If you want to stop without selecting, press the ESC key or spacebar to deactivate the Highlight tool.
