Error: Error Querying Data: Operation Error – Operation is Not Allowed When the Object is Closed

Issue

You received the following error message:

Error querying data: Operation error – operation is not allowed when the object is closed

Cause

This error commonly occurs when the MySQL server has gone away unexpectedly, but it can also just mean that your computer or server needs to restart.

Solution

1. Restart your computer. In many cases, simply restarting can resolve this issue.

If you're running Land F/X in a Multi-User environment using a server, restart your server as well.

2. Open CAD after restarting your computer and, if applicable, your server.

Sstill getting the error? If so, move on to the rest of the steps.

3. Press the Windows + R keys (Windows keyboard) or Command + R keys (Mac keyboard) to open the Run dialog box.

Type services.msc in the text field, and click OK.

4. In the Services dialog box, scroll down and confirm that it includes a MySQL entry. If you don't see the word Started in the Description column to the right of MySQL, highlight MySQL and click Start the service as pictured below.

Don't see MySQL? Contact your IT department for assistance. They may need to reinstall MYSQL on the workstation or server.
