F/X CAD is an Autodesk OEM product that requires a Land F/X license to operate. Because F/X CAD versions 2023 and older are perpetual licenses, you are not required to upgrade to each new version. Versions F/X CAD 2024 and newer operate on a one-year subscription. However, we recommend staying within two years of the latest version
Please note that Land F/X licenses will only operate with the five most recent versions of CAD.
On How Many Computers Can You Install a Single F/X CAD Seat?
Autodesk's licensing policy allows F/X CAD to be installed and activated on up to two computers, for use by one person only. For example, you may install a single F/X CAD license on your laptop or home computer in addition to your primary desktop, as long as those installations will only be used by the same person.
The following are not permitted under Autodesk licensing policy:
- Not permitted: The operation of the same F/X CAD license by two or more people employing the same username.
- Also not permitted: Two or more users sharing a single F/X CAD license between separate workstations.

The Autodesk end-user agreement includes a highly detailed licensing policy, which we're required to follow closely in setting our F/X CAD licensing policy. See the Autodesk Licenses and Services Agreement in its entirety for more information.
Mismatched Licenses
A license mismatch is defined by either:
- Different versions of F/X CAD, or
- A different number of F/X CAD licenses and Land F/X licenses
If your account has any mismatch of licenses and your number of F/X CAD sessions exceeds your purchased count, you will be notified that you are using an unlicensed version of F/X CAD. Please contact Land F/X Support immediately. If we find any abuse to licensing, we have the right to audit your installations and licenses, and possibly suspend your licenses.
Upgrading Your F/X CAD
Immediately after you pay for an F/X CAD upgrade, you may be notified that you have a license mismatch each time you launch your currently installed version of F/X CAD. You will have 15 days to install your new version of F/X CAD after your upgrade.
Please also note that upon purchasing the new edition of F/X CAD, you will no longer own any previous versions. You will therefore be required to uninstall any other year versions of F/X CAD upon upgrading.
Computer Username & Additional Activations
If the username of a computer where F/X CAD is installed does not match the name of the person who is using F/X CAD on that computer, we cannot honor a second activation of that specific F/X CAD Serial Number on a different machine, such as a laptop or home computer.
