Issue

You received an error message similar to the following:

Customization file load failed. File not Found:
C:User\(USERNAME)\appdata\roaming\adobe\acrobat\dc\acad-e001-409\pdfic

Cause

This error can result from a problem with the Adobe PDF utility. (If so, it might be occurring even if you're not trying to plot to PDF.)

Solution

If so, navigate to the following folder path:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat DC\PDFMaker\AutoCAD

Locate and delete the following files from this folder:

• AcrobatAcadIC.arx
• AcrobatAcadIC.dbx
• PDFMAcad.arx

In our experience, the Adobe PDF utility is an unsatisfactory option for creating PDF files from CAD. In fact, F/X CAD doesn't support it. Please see our list of recommendations for third-party PDF printers. We've found all PDF creation utilities on this list to be superior to both the Adobe PDF utility and the built-in CAD PDF printer.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat DC\PDFMaker\AutoCAD will reappear – along with the files listed above – each time Adobe Acrobat DC updates. To prevent it from reappearing, please contact us and request the fix.
