There Are Already the Maximum of 32 Sessions of AutoCAD Running (Opening AutoCAD or F/X CAD)

    Updated on: April 15, 2022

    Issue

When attempting to start or open AutoCAD or F/X CAD, you received the following message:

There are already the maximum of 32 sessions of AutoCAD running.

    Maximum of 32 sessions Error

    Cause

You have AutoCAD or F/X CAD open 32 times, which is the limit to the number of instances you are allowed to have AutoCAD open. You'll need to open the Task Manager and close all instances of AutoCAD.

    Solution

    Open Task Manager

    1. Open your Start menu and type Task Manager in the search field.

Select the Task Manager option from the menu.

    2. The Task Manager will open, and you'll likely see a large number of instances of AutoCAD being open (32, to be exact).

Select each open instance and click End task.

    click End task

    3. Restart Windows.

    Mac using Parallels?

Reset Windows by selecting Reset from the Actions menu.

    Reset Windows

You should now be able to open AutoCAD or F/X CAD without getting the error.
