Command Not Allowed During Reference Editing (Attempting an AutoCAD Command)

Issue

You received the following error message: Command not allowed during reference editing.

You might see this message after attempting one of several possible AutoCAD commands, such as Save As, QSAVE, Xref, or COPYCLIP.

Cause

You are in REFEDIT mode.

Solution

Type REFCLOSE in the Command line and press Enter.

Select Save.

You should now be able to use the command you were attempting when you received the message.
