Polylines (PLINES): Set Linetype Generation to "On" ("Enabled")

Issue

When you draw polylines (PLINEs) in CAD, they are consistently created with the Linetype Generation set to "off." As a result, you often find yourself needing to revisit polylines throughout your drawings and change their linetypes – especially with dashed lines. 

You want a way to set Linetype Generation to "on" (or "enabled") by default, which will allow you to draw your polylines with the correct linetype.

Solution

You can change this setting with a simple system variable.

Type PLINEGEN in the Command line, and press Enter. When prompted to Enter new value for PLINEGEN, type 1 and press Enter.

Linetype Generation will now be set to "on" ("enabled") for your polylines.
