F/X CAD Drawing File Stuck in 3D View (3D Tools Unavailable)
Issue
You're trying to work in your drawing file in F/X CAD, and you appear to be stuck in a 3D view. For example:
• You might be seeing the Command line display messages such as The 3dpan2 command is not available in this product.
or ...
• The X and Y coordinates (UCS Icon) might be showing in color and also displaying a Z axis, as displayed in the left image below.
X and Y coordinates incorrectly showing in color and displaying a Z axis
X and Y coordinates displaying correctly
Cause
Your drawing may have been placed into a 3D view accidentally. F/X CAD does not include the 3D commands and tools from AutoCAD and Civil 3D. When a drawing file is placed into this view, it prevents routine tools and commands, such as Pan, from working.
Solution
Type PROP in the Command line and press Enter to open the Properties Manager.
In the Miscellaneous section of the Properties Manager, verify that the Visual Style menu is set to 2D Wireframe.
We've even seen this menu set to 2D Wireframe, yet the drawing does not look that way. If you're seeing 3d common not available errors in the Command line, or if your Model Space appears black and the UCS Icon is in color as pictured above, adjust the Visual Style setting away from 2D Wireframe and then back.
Although the Visual Style includes several options, 2D Wireframe is the only correct option for Land F/X work using F/X CAD.
