Back Up the Windows Registry (Reg Keys)

Issue

You need to back up the Windows Registry.

Solution

1. Open your Start menu, type regedit.exe in the search box, and press Enter.

2. In the Registry Editor, select the Registry key you want to back up (example: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE).

3. Select File > Export.

4. The Export Registry dialog box will open. Select a location where you'd like to save the backup copy. Type a name for the backup file.

5. Click Save.
