Create, Manage, and Send Zip Files

Issue

You need to send us a Zip file (otherwise known as a compressed file) of a screenshot or another file on your computer.

 

Our technical support ticket system can only handle attachments that are Zip files. If you need to send us a screenshot or another file, you can complete the steps on this page to turn that file into a Zip file.

Many technical support issues require us to have a copy of the drawing and associated Land F/X project that are causing the issue. If you need to send us your drawing and Land F/X project, please follow our steps to:

 

Solution

Right-click the file you need to compress (Zip). Select Send To from the menu that opens. Then select Compressed (zipped) folder from the sub-menu that appears.

 

This step will create a folder on your desktop with the same name as the folder you compressed above.

 

For example, if you compressed a file named my screenshot, the new Zip file will also be named my screenshot.

   

You can now send this zipped file to us.

Problems creating your zip file?

You likely have zip software installed on your computer (such as WinZip, 7zip, WinRar, etc.), and the free trial has expired.

 

To be able to create a zip file, you'll need to either:

  • Pay for the normal installation of your zip software, or
  • Uninstall the zip software from your Control Panel and follow the instructions on this page to create your zip file.
