Here's how to open the Registry Editor as an administrator:
1. Open the Windows Start menu and type Regedit in the search field.
Right-click the Registry Editor menu item that appears.
2. Select Run as administrator from the menu that opens.
You can now proceed to the action you need to take as an administrator within the Registry Editor.
