    Broken Railing Segments

    Issue

    While using our Railing tool, you're noticing that some of your railing, walls, or fence graphics have become broken or fragmented into separate pieces.

     

     

    Cause

    Some Railing graphic types convert polylines into blocks. If a Railing block intersects itself in any way, it can break this block into separate pieces.

     

    Here are some examples of what this issue can look like:

    Even if your initial polyline doesn't intersect itself, this issue can occur if the placed Railing graphic intersects itself.

    Note the section of fence in this case that was intersected by the final applied graphic is cut off from the rest of the block, and is its own disconnected polyline as a result.

     

     

    Solution

    Verify that your final placed railing graphics don't intersect themselves.

     

    If they do intersect themselves, it's best to revert them back to a polyline using our Edit Object tool, make the necessary adjustments to ensure they will not intersect themselves, and then replace with either:

    • Our Railing tool, or
    • The Length Reference Note you used in creating the Railing graphic
