Missing arialn.ttf Error, or Dialog Box Buttons Cutting Off Text

Issue

You're seeing a Missing arialn.ttf error message when using Land F/X and/or ...

... one or more of the category buttons in the Land F/X dialog boxes have the text cut off slightly, as in the Wood tab pictured to the right.

Cause

You likely do not have the Arial Narrow (arialn.ttf) font installed. Starting with Windows 10, this font was no longer installed by default. It now only installs manually or with Microsoft Office.

If you're seeing the text cut off in tabs or buttons as shown above, those items are using Arial Narrow.

Solution

To resolve this issue, you can either:

• Install Microsoft office, or

• Install arialn.ttf manually

To install arialn.ttf:

1. Navigate to Microsoft's Arial Narrow font family page.

2. Under Licensing and redistribution info, click the License Microsoft fonts link.

3. Follow the directions to download arialn.ttf for free at that link.
