Land F/X Server Information
Updated on: February 16, 2026
The Server installation contains ALL Files required for the use of our software.
Because all required files are located on the server, we recommend you verify with your office's IT department that a viable backup solution is in place. Typically, the Land F/X Server is the machine that also hosts your project DWG files. You will want to include the LandFX folder in your current backup solution.
After a server installation, all desired Land F/X workstations must be able to "see" the LandFX folder over the network, and must have full permissions to this directory. This means that if your office installs our software on a central server or shared online folder, you will need to grant full permissions to all Land F/X users in your office.
The default install location of the Land F/X Server for both Cloud and Local Data installations is C:\LandFX – that is, on the C: drive of the computer on which your installation is taking place. You can change this location during the install process. If you're installing Multi-User Land F/X, you'll need to change it to a location on a mapped letter drive that all Land F/X users in your office have read-wrote access to.
Server Information: Cloud Data
With our Cloud Data option, Land F/X license validation and the Land F/X database both take place in the cloud.

Server Information: Local Data
If you change the install location from the default location on your computer's C: drive when installing Land F/X with Local Data, you must set the location to an internal hard drive. The MySQL data is stored in the LandFX\Data folder.
Because MySQL communicates over a TCP/IP stack, you'll also need to disable any firewall that may be blocking port 3306, or set an exception in your firewall settings for this port. (This only applies if you're using a firewall product other than Windows Firewall).
